MEET THE CHEF

Andrea is the longest standing member of our Slurp community, and head chef since 2021. He brings together mountains of experience from all over the world - Italy to Japan, something he allows to manifest in the dishes he creates. The Nduja Miso at Kona is his most recent creation, a ramen that speaks to the internationality of himself, of Italy and Denmark, and of food itself.

But he is not only about food, he is also the good soul of Slurp – the glue that makes new and old team members feel welcome, the guy with the biggest smile, the one with the greatest passion to never stop growing, always inspired to do things differently. Slurp couldn‘t wish for a better exec chef.

Our JOURNEY

It all started some time ago when our co-founder and OG chef Philipp Inreiter left his Noma days behind him to travel Japan. After a passionate, strong, and hot love affair with ramen, he decided that Copenhagen was in serious need of this food – intense broth, delicious noodles, and rich toppings that speak right to your soul and deliver some urgent warmth amidst the Danish weather.

He created SLURP and our buzzing little Ramen Joint opened its doors in 2017. Things have changed by then, but only for the better – the queue got longer, the team bigger, and the menu greater.

But what has not changed are our roots. Just like on day one, we are strongly connected to Japanese cuisine and culture and are on a mission to explore what ramen means within a European and Danish context. When you come by, you can expect straightforward Tokyo-style ramen that is true to its cultural heritage; but don‘t get too comfortable! We are always experimenting, also curious about what to do with the seasonal ingredients around us, and are ready to surprise you with dishes that you won‘t find anywhere else.

In 2023 we opened as a one year residency at Kona in Carlsberg Byen. Watch out for a permanent second site soon.
