Fifteen casual Copenhagen restaurants checked live for Sunday dinner hours in 2026, from taquerias and pizza to Slurp's no-reservation ramen.

TL;DR

For an early, informal dinner, Hija de Sanchez Kødbyen serves tacos until 21:00 and Corsa Vesterbro's latest arrival is 20:45. If the table wants to share, Paté Paté, Llama, Kate's Joint and SURT offer quite different food and service formats. For a focused ramen bowl instead, Slurp Borgergade is the answer, and we do not take reservations there.

Do not plan from closing time alone. Some kitchens stop serving earlier, and current menus or holiday hours may change.

Fifteen Sunday dinner choices in Copenhagen

Two questions decide a good Sunday table: what the group actually wants to eat, and when the kitchen stops taking orders. Fifteen options across five neighbourhoods answer both, grouped by area rather than ranked. "Casual" describes a practical à la carte, sharing, taqueria, food-hall or ramen meal; it does not promise a low price, a walk-in table or an available booking.

Vesterbro and Kødbyen: make the food choice first

Corsa is the direct pizza answer, while Spuntino gives a group pasta, pizza and antipasti in one meal. Bloom Vesterbro is the softer choice for the evening, a small home-cooked menu that runs from seared salmon and duck confit to a straightforward steak or a plate of moules frites. All three publish different Sunday windows, so none should be treated as open for orders until its room actually closes.

For sharing food with more spice and spread across the table, Paté Paté's Southern French and Spanish small plates, built with North African spice, make a different Kødbyen table from the Italian options nearby. Hija de Sanchez is a taqueria serving taco al pastor and sides, suited to an earlier and less formal stop rather than a late reservation. At Kødbyens Fiskebar, the current contact page says its Sunday dinner kitchen runs from 17:30 to 23:00 and oysters are served through the day.

The centre: sharing, Italian food or a bowl

Llama is for a table happy to pass ceviche, tacos and skewers around. Amalfi's current pages give a Margherita, Quattro Formaggi and pasta reason to choose Gråbrødretorv, with its kitchen closing at 22:00. Ristorante Italiano offers a longer Italian à la carte choice on Fiolstræde; its contact page states a 23:00 kitchen close, but a late arrival should still be confirmed with the restaurant.

We started Slurp on Nansensgade in 2017 after Philipp Inreiter's work at Noma, Relæ and Tokyo's RyuGin. We simmer broths for hours to entire days and cut noodles each morning using Øland flour milled on Bornholm. At Borgergade, our shoyu bowl pairs chicken broth with chashu, tamago, spring onions, mushroom paste and greens. We serve Sunday from 17:00 to 22:00 and do not take reservations, so an early arrival makes more sense than planning around a booked table.

Carlsberg Byen and Nørrebro: choose the service format

SURT is a casual sourdough pizza spot in Carlsberg Byen, built around a wood-fired oven and a short a la carte list rather than a fixed tasting menu. Its own site states one opening window for every day of the week, kitchen and room together from 12:00 to 21:30, so Sunday needs no separate check. It works when the table wants pizza, a beef tartare and something to share rather than a formal sit-down.

At BÆST, the reason to go is wood-fired pizza alongside in-house cheese and charcuterie; its own site says it keeps space for walk-ins. That is useful information when a booking slips, not a guarantee of immediate seating. Bistro Lupa offers a different vegetable-led meal, and its 20:30 last-order time matters more than its 22:00 room close. Kate's Joint describes Indian and Malay home cooking with vegetarian and vegan dishes; its site discusses vegetable and legume cooking but does not establish that a particular dish is on tonight's menu. Its kitchen closes roughly 30 to 40 minutes before the 22:00 Sunday closing time. Nonsolo Pizza is the budget-friendly alternative nearby, a neighbourhood pizzeria serving dine-in pizza, pasta and sandwiches until 21:00 on Sundays.

Useful exclusions and a final check

Barr has a four-course option, a more committed format than this quick Sunday comparison. Vespa does not list a Sunday dinner window on its current page. Neither should be quietly counted as an eligible casual Sunday choice.

Pick the food first, then check the current restaurant page for Sunday service, kitchen cut-off and whether the format takes bookings. A published walk-in allocation is worth knowing about, but it cannot promise a seat at a particular time.
