A changed evening still deserves a good dinner. Start with the food you want, keep the order simple and leave the kitchen enough time to cook it.

For an unplanned central Copenhagen dinner, choose the meal first: Fabro for carbonara, Dhaba for curry and rice, Nr.30 for fish, or Slurp for ramen and gyoza. These nine addresses suit different appetites between 18:00 and 21:00. Check the kitchen cutoff before setting off; a short menu cannot guarantee a short visit.
Updated 23 October 2026
Your friend’s message lands halfway down the street: dinner together is off. You’re hungry enough for a proper plate, still wearing your coat, and suddenly choosing for one. A quick dinner in central Copenhagen starts with a manageable order: pasta, curry and rice, or a bowl of noodles, close to where the evening has left you.
There’s pleasure in getting that small decision right. Choose the carbonara you actually want, or the fish with potatoes, then find out whether the kitchen is still taking orders. A meal for one or two needn’t become a tasting menu. Equally, a simple dish tells you very little about how busy the room will be.
The useful choice runs from Nansensgade through the old centre to Borgergade and Kongens Nytorv. These are nine distinct addresses, with Gasoline Grill and the two Slurp restaurants first, then the other places alphabetically, with the two Slurp restaurants counted separately. Kitchen and ordering information was checked on 23 October 2026. The times describe food service, except where counter closing is explicitly labelled.
| Place and address | A useful order | Evening limit |
|---|---|---|
| Gasoline Grill, Købmagergade 23 | Cheeseburger; an extra patty is optional | Burgers from 11:00 until sold out; no fixed evening cutoff |
| Slurp Borgergade, Borgergade 16 | Shio ramen and dinner gyoza | Last dinner orders 21:45 daily; closes 22:00 |
| Slurp Nansensgade, Nansensgade 90 | Shio ramen or pork gyoza | Last dinner orders 20:45 daily; closes 21:00 |
| Dhaba, H.C. Andersens Boulevard 37 | Butter chicken with rice | Kitchen to 21:00 Sunday to Thursday; 22:00 Friday and Saturday |
| Fabro, Borgergade 134 | Carbonara | Kitchen to 21:00 Tuesday to Saturday; closed Sunday and Monday |
| Nr.30, Nansensgade 30 | Hake, mussel sauce and potatoes | Last food orders 21:30 Monday to Saturday; closed Sunday |
| Pasta La Pasta, Ny Østergade 5 | Rigatoni and bolognese | Counter planning limit 20:30 Sunday to Thursday (see note below); Friday and Saturday 21:00 |
| Sanders Kitchen, Tordenskjoldsgade 15 | Chanterelle risotto | Dinner kitchen to 22:00 Sunday to Thursday; 22:30 Friday and Saturday |
| Tight, Hyskenstræde 10 | Hake with beurre blanc and potatoes | Kitchen to 22:00 Sunday to Thursday; 22:30 Friday and Saturday |
A later kitchen cutoff gives you more room to decide what to eat. It doesn’t tell you whether a table is free. Ask about space and the current food wait when you arrive. If dinner needs to be finished by a fixed time, say so before ordering.
A pasta main makes the decision small without making dinner feel meagre. At Fabro, the corner of Borgergade and Fredericiagade is the destination. The four-pasta menu gives you a proper choice: carbonara with guanciale, egg, pecorino and black pepper; tomato with basil and stracciatella; mushrooms with sage and butter; or a white ragù of beef and pork. Each costs 125 DKK. For two people ordering pasta only, that is 250 DKK before drinks or extras. Fabro cooks until 21:00, Tuesday to Saturday. It is a useful northern-centre option when choosing a main is all you want to organise.
Closer to Kongens Nytorv, Pasta La Pasta takes a different approach: the pasta and sauces are handmade in Piedmont, then cooked in Copenhagen. At Ny Østergade 5, the rigatoni and bolognese pairs a sausage ragù with pesto, basil and oregano. Spinach-and-ricotta panzerotti with tomato sauce and smoked almonds gives another direction. This is an earlier-evening stop: the counter closes at 20:30 on Sunday to Wednesday and 21:00 on Friday and Saturday. Thursday differs between the two official schedules, so use 20:30 and ask before heading over near closing. A separate dine-in kitchen cutoff isn’t given.
If the evening calls for a burger, Gasoline Grill at Købmagergade 23 puts that choice in the old centre. The restaurant opened in April 2025, in the former Falafel House, with a narrow room and indoor and outdoor seating. Its cheeseburger combines organic beef ground in-house each morning with cheddar, red onion, pickles and Gasoline Grill sauce. The patties are shaped by hand and served in a potato bun. Add fries when you want something crisp beside the beef. Choose an extra patty when you want a bigger dinner; the cheese and beef are the rich centre of the order, with onion and pickles for contrast. Burgers begin at 11:00 daily, and service ends when the day’s supply sells out. There is no fixed evening kitchen cutoff to plan around here. Check availability before making it your dinner destination, especially towards the later part of the evening.

One main course can be a complete evening’s food, especially when you’ve lost the appetite for planning that comes with dinner for two. Nr.30 occupies a former butcher’s shop on Nansensgade, and builds its cooking around seasonal produce, organic local farming and low-impact fishing. Sharing is the house approach, but the à la carte menu also gives you a concrete place to start: hake with mussel sauce, new potatoes and clams, or whole plaice with browned butter, pickled spruce shoots and lemon. Choose the fish you want and ask how much makes sense for your appetite. The hot kitchen opens at 17:30, with last orders at 21:30, Monday to Saturday.
Further into the old centre, Tight brings a Nordic starting point and broader influences to Hyskenstræde 10, in a historic building dating to 1800. Its evening hake comes with beurre blanc, bimi, baked cherry tomatoes, samphire and butter-steamed potatoes. Mussels with mild chilli, herbs, aioli and focaccia offer a more hands-on supper. Both are listed at 219 DKK. The dinner menu begins at 17:00, and the kitchen closes at 22:00, or 22:30 on Friday and Saturday. A plated main here makes sense when you want more than a counter meal but still want to keep the order straightforward.
Curry and rice are an easy combination to agree on when one person wants chicken and the other wants lentils. At Dhaba Copenhagen, H.C. Andersens Boulevard 37, Indian cooking meets Nordic influences. Alongside the longer menu, the à la carte curries include butter chicken in tomato, onion, cream and butter sauce, and dal tadka with ginger and garlic oil. Both come with rice. That gives each diner a main to choose without negotiating a succession of shared courses. Dinner starts at 17:00; the kitchen stops at 21:00 Sunday to Thursday and 22:00 Friday and Saturday.
Back near Kongens Nytorv, Sanders Kitchen is the hotel-restaurant alternative at Tordenskjoldsgade 15. Its chanterelle risotto with saffron and parmigiano-reggiano costs 255 DKK; a Caesar salad with grilled chicken offers a different appetite and texture. The evening menu has individually priced dishes, so a single main is a sensible starting point. This is the choice for someone who wants a restaurant supper and has room in the budget for it. The dinner kitchen runs from 17:30 until 22:00, extended to 22:30 on Friday and Saturday.
At Slurp, Shio ramen and gyoza give a solo diner or pair two clear dinner choices. We make the noodles with locally milled Bornholm flour and slow-cook the broths. We opened Slurp Borgergade in January 2025, carrying that same craft into our second central address.
Shio ramen brings chicken, smoked mackerel and seafood together in the broth, with pork-neck chashu, egg, daikon and herbs. It costs 185 DKK. The fish in the broth gives you a concrete reason to choose it over a chicken-only bowl.
At Slurp, our gyoza vary by room. At Nansensgade, we pair pork, caramelised onion and ginger with spicy Szechuan pepper sauce. At Borgergade, we serve four pork, cabbage, ginger and spring-onion dumplings with soy dressing at dinner only. Add them when the bowl alone isn’t the dinner you want.
At Slurp Nansensgade, number 90, we take dinner orders until 20:45 and close at 21:00. At Slurp Borgergade, number 16, we take orders until 21:45 and close at 22:00. Leave space before those limits to sit down and enjoy dinner.
The cancelled plan leaves tonight’s plate up to you: Fabro’s carbonara, Dhaba’s curry and rice, Nr.30’s fish or a Slurp bowl. Between 18:00 and 21:00, those are four different ways to make the evening your own. Gasoline Grill adds a burger choice while stock lasts. Pasta La Pasta needs an earlier decision; Tight and Sanders leave more of the evening open. Choose somewhere else when soup and noodles aren’t the meal you want.
At Slurp Nansensgade, we serve ramen and gyoza at Nansensgade 90, with last dinner orders at 20:45. Nr.30, at Nansensgade 30, offers à la carte fish and vegetable dishes and takes last food orders at 21:30, Monday to Saturday. Ask about space and the food wait before ordering.
A short menu cannot guarantee a short visit. Pasta, a curry with rice or a bowl of ramen can keep the order simple, but seating and preparation depend on the evening. Tell the restaurant about any fixed departure time before ordering.
At Slurp Borgergade, we take dinner orders until 21:45. Nr.30 takes last food orders at 21:30, Monday to Saturday. Tight and Sanders Kitchen cook until 22:00 Sunday to Thursday and 22:30 Friday and Saturday. These are food-service limits, with seating subject to availability.
Our Shio ramen combines chicken, smoked mackerel and seafood broth with pork-neck chashu, egg, daikon and herbs. Our gyoza make a second dish: at Nansensgade, we serve pork, caramelised onion and ginger with spicy Szechuan pepper sauce; at Borgergade, our dinner-only dumplings contain pork, cabbage, ginger and spring onion.
